James Travis O'Neal

James Travis “J.T.” O’Neal, 43 of Lake City, died on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 in Lake City. J.T. was born in Alachua County and was raised in Lake City. From an early age, J.T. loved listening to music, fishing, driving and riding bicycles. J.T. loved to help anyone in need and was always willing to give what he had. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Rubin O’Neal and Marchie Battle O’Neal.

Survivors include his daughter, Laci O’Neal of Lake City; his step-son, Micah Blackwell of Lake City; his sister, Marchie Marie Cline (Gary) of Lake City; and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. O’Neal will be conducted on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
