Mr. James Everette Johnson "Jim", 82 passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at his residence following an extended illness. He is the son of the late Douglas Ray and Lessie Barbour Johnson, Sr., and is preceded in death by three brothers Douglas Ray Johnson, Jr. and Donald Leon Johnson, Sr. (Peggy), and Daniel Eugene Johnson.
Jim had made Lake City his home for the past forty-nine years after moving here from Southern Pines, North Carolina. He attended Ramona Park Church. He founded Signcraft and Signs & Graphics, working in the sign industry for over 30 years. Prior to moving to FL, he served his country for twelve years in the United States Air Force, earning the rank of Staff SGT. He enjoyed spending time with his family, volunteering at the V.A., walking, singing, working in his garden, traveling, photography, playing games, and winning with much love and laughter. Still, his Greatest Joy in Life was sharing the Love of his Friend and Savior Jesus Christ with everyone he met all while the love of his life was by his side.
Jim is survived by his wife of sixty-two years Peggy Johnson, Lake City, FL; son James Everette "Jimmy" Johnson, Jr. (Julie) Lake City, FL; two daughters Catherine "Cathy" Welsh (Randy) Lake City, FL; Paula Tambling (Sean) Lexington, SC; brother Carl Lee Johnson (Deanna) Carthage, NC. a sister-in-law Kay Johnson, Five grandchildren Jessi Johnson, Brittany Peeler, Erica Welsh, Jordan Keen, and Elisabeth Tambling. And seven great-grandchildren Landon, Kiptyn, & Molly Peeler, Kyler Brittan, Abbey, Hannah, & Ellie Keen.
