James "Jimbo" Henderson Rivers

Mr. James H. “Jimbo” Rivers, 75, of Lake City passed away at his residence on July 28, 2026. A native of Lake City, Jimbo was the son of the late David J. and Sara Louise Andrews Rivers. During his 30 year funeral director career, he had lived in Miami, Middleburg, and Jacksonville, before returning to Lake City to join Biggs Funeral Home. In retirement he owned and operated Three Rivers Burgers and Fries food truck, and then Home Depot, a job he loved before his health made him fully retire. A Presbyterian in Faith, Jimbo loved cooking, grilling and smoking meats and boating. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Rivers; brother, Robert Andrews Rivers; and daughter, Sabrina Rivers.

Jimbo is survived by his son, J.R. Rivers (Jessica); daughter, Alison Rivers; grandchildren, Sebastian “Seebay” Rivers, Brooke Harryman, Hannah Ivins, James and Luke Lynch, and Samantha Rivers; cousins, Susan Baildon Espenship, Nancy Baildon, and Charles Rivers (Wendy).

Graveside funeral services will be held at Old Providence Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Pete Beaulieu officiating. Interment will follow.
