Obituary

Mr. James Harvey Jackson, 81 of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at the Haven Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center in Lake City with his family at his side.  He was born in Griffin, Georgia to the late Thomas Ellis Jackson and Willie Mae Palmer Jackson.  Mr. Jackson was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Cat Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Valdosta, Georgia.  He worked for the American Bowling Association as an AMF Mechanic for 26 years and also with Sears Power Equipment Service Department for 10 years before retiring.  Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Joyce Jackson; two brothers, Arthur Jackson and Jerl Jackson; and one sister, Deloris Jackson.

Survivors include his two children, Fifi Price (Tommy), Lake City and Josh Jackson, Milledgeville, GA; six brothers, Lamar Jackson (Catherine), Evans, GA, Bobby Jackson (Mary), Harlem, GA, Alton Jackson (Mary), Olympia, WA, Tommy Jackson, Duncan, SC, Richard Hamby, Evans, GA and Lonnie Hamby (Mary), Pas Christian, MS; one sister, Carol Boone (Frank), Indianapolis, IN; five grandchildren and one great grandchild also survives.

Private family graveside services will be held at a later date at Cat Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Valdosta, GA.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to Haven Hospice, 6037 W US Highway 90, Lake City, FL 32055.
