James Charles Grant, Jr., 69 of White Springs, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City.  He was born in Ashland, Kentucky to the late James Charles Grant, Sr. and Betty Jean Rye Grant.  Mr. Grant was a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1973 and a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.  He had made his home in White Springs since 1989 and was a member of White Springs Methodist Church.  Mr. Grant retired from PCS in White Springs with 35 years of employment.  He loved collecting and tinkering with model trains, woodworking and working around his home.  Mr. Grant was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Crystal Kincaid.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon H. Grant, White Springs, FL; his children, Katherine McDonald (Wayne), Columbus, GA, Melissa McClean (James), Helena, MT, Amanda Rodle (Terry), Fostoria, OH, Alfred Sharpe (Tina), Lake City, James Riley Grant and Lynette Steedley (Curtis), Jasper; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Grant will be conducted on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Rev.  Brian Leonardson officiating.  Interment will follow with military honors at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  A time of visitation with the family will be from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
