Emerson Goodloe, Sr.
November 4, 1957 – November 16, 2024
James Emerson "Jim" Goodloe, Sr., 67, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday morning, November 16, 2024 at the Haven Hospice – Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City after a brief illness. He was born in Jacksonville Florida on November 4, 1957; and was the son of the late Robert and Margaret Goodloe. He was a US Army Veteran, and lived for 14 years in Germany while he served his country. After returning home, he worked for a short stint as a Truck Driver before his health forced him to "medically retire". He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he served as an Elder. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on and riding motorcycles and tinkering with his newly acquired bass boat.
He is survived by his loving wife of 5 years, Laura G. Goodloe of Lake City; children, James Goodloe, Jr. of Jacksonville and Jasmine Goodloe of Germany; step-son, Ryan Jones of Jacksonville; grandson, Matthew Goodloe of Jacksonville and his brother. Robert V. Goodloe. He is also survived by his 16 year old fur-baby, Pups Emerson, whom he absolutely adored.
A graveside service for Mr. Goodloe will be conducted on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 1:30 P.M. in the Jacksonville National Cemetery with Military Honors. Interment will follow.
