Mr. James Carleton "Bo" Waldron, 87, of Lake City passed away on January 26, 2026 after a short illness. He was born in Lake City, FL on January 17, 1939 to the late Stewart and Myrtle Bunnell Waldron. He graduated from Columbia High School and was a very hard worker where he spent over 30 years as an engineer with Milton J. Wood where he was known for his dedication and hard working ethic. He loved his work and was very proud of the projects he worked on and completed. Despite his many responsibilities he always made time for his family. He was an avid Gator fan and NASCAR fan where Kyle Busch was his favorite driver. Bo loved spending time at his river house in Astor with family and friends boating and fishing.and loved playing cards and poker with his neighbors. He also loved spending many Saturdays cheering on his driver and fussing with his best friend and neighbor Marty about Jimmie Johnson cheating. His grandkids softball and baseball games were always a favorite time for him also. Bo enjoyed his weekly visits with the tellers at Campus Credit Union where he banked. After Bo retired in his spare time he ran an off and on rehab facility for any one in need. He was called Bo or Papa by everyone and deserves to have his many years of fatherly love honored. He was a man of integrity, hard work, kindness and generosity and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Bo is preceded in death by his first wife Norma Jean Waldron, son, Jeffrey Dewayne Waldron, step daughter, Lisa Brock Kirkman, step son, Robert "Bobby" Brock.
Bo was a devoted husband to Linda Brock Waldron and a loving father to Kevin Waldron, Rhonda Davis (Kevin), and James Brock and many very close grandchildren and great grandchildren and extended family members.
Funeral services for Mr. Waldron will he conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Fred Gaylard officiating. Visitation with the family will held from 10:00-11:00 A.M. (1 hour before services) at the funeral home. Graveside interment services will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. In lieu of flowers, his family has asked that donations be made to the Christian Service Center of Columbia County, P.O. Box 2285, Lake City, FL 32056.
