IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Phillip
Campbell
September 8, 1953 – January 8, 2025
Jim Campbell, a former resident of Fort Mill, SC, died January 8 of cancer in Live Oak, FL.
Born in Norfolk, VA to Helen Campbell and the late Jim Campbell, Jim spent much of his youth moving around the country while his father served in the US Navy. Ever the entrepreneur, Jim launched his own bartending school in Raleigh, NC in the 1970s and managed several bars and restaurants before entering the tool and die industry.
Jim married Sue Campbell in Charlotte, NC in March 1981 and they had two children. After a brief stint in Michigan, Jim and his family relocated to Fort Mill in 1989. Jim ran a successful small business, Carlabels.com, for more than 20 years before he and Sue retired to Florida in 2017. Always the life of any gathering, Jim enjoyed playing games, golfing, organizing fireworks displays at family reunions, and playing the lotto.
Jim is survived by his wife Sue; his children Kelly Campbell and Jim (Gaby) Campbell; his mother Helen Campbell; his siblings Dave (Carol) Campbell, Karen Rogers, Helen Dittmer, Joe (Robin) Campbell, Theresa (Rod) Ruth, and Anne (Gary) Johnson; 12 nieces and nephews and their respective spouses; and 22 grand-nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private memorial service and requests that donations be made in Jim's memory to the Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center in Jacksonville, FL.
