Jacquline Yvonne "Jackie" Gieger, 78, of Greenacres, Florida passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born in Lake City, Florida to the late J.B. and Marie "Williams" Smith and while she had lived in Greenacres for a number of years her "home" will always be Lake City. She was a loving mother, grand and great grandmother who was a medical clerk for the most of her professional life. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Crockett Smith, her sister, Mable Catherine Smith and her children, Tony and Vernon Lane.
Survivors include her son, Thomas K. Lane of McCalpin, FL; daughters, Cherry D. Mullins of Harrodsburg, KY and Jill R. Dawson of Lake Worth, FL; brother, David Smith; sisters, Geraldine Snipes, Virgenia Smith, Maralyn Foote, Vivian Douberly, and Candance Kaswinkel; 15 grandchildren & 22 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to service time (1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.
