Jackie Lane Steele, 69, of Fort White, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 14, 2023 at the Haven Hospice – Suwannee Valley Care Center after an extended illness. He was born in Lake City on August 18, 1953 to the late Lawson Cloyce "Sam" Steele and Mildred Louise Wright Steele. He has made the High Springs area his home all of his life and working as a lineman in 1973, moving over to cable TV in 1975 in Gainesville before opening Steele Brother's Cable TV construction with his brother; he then went into business for himself, owning his own company, Jackie Steele Cable Splicing in 1996. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, boating, pulling the kids on tubes and ski's in the river and loved cheering on the Florida Gators. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Samantha Michelle Steele; and his brothers, Ronnie Ray Steele & John Berry Steele.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Bobbie Steele of Fort White; sons, Eric Jackson Steele (Demi) of New Port Ritchey, Brenton Wayne Koontz (Virginia) and Brannon Scott Koontz (Shelley) both of Fort White; daughter, Crystal Marina Steele of Oldsmar; and his brothers, Sidney Steele (Sandra) of Alachua and Michael Wayne Steele (Marina) of High Springs. Twelve grandchildren along with special friends who were like children and grandchildren to him, Wyatt Langford, Joey Todd, Corey Turner and Kirk Martin along with numerous others. Many nieces & nephews along with many close friends also survive.

A celebration of Jackie's Life will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in the Burlington Santa Fe Church of Christ, 4393 US HWY 27, Branford, FL, 32008. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME
