Jackie V. Gibbs, 73, died Monday, September 17, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Willacoochee, Georgia, the son of the late Jesse and Clara (Hunter) Gibbs. He has been a resident of Lake City for the past 51 years after moving here from Georgia. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Lake City Moose Lodge #624. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jimmy Gibbs and his son, Trent Gibbs.
Survivors include his sons, Allan Gibbs, Bubba Gibbs, and Jesse Gibbs all of Lake City, FL. and Keith Gibbs of Gainesville, FL; daughter, Cindy Wynne (Kelvin) of Lake City, FL; sister, Carol Boyette of Lake City, FL; grandchildren, Tristen Michael Grennett, Kellie Foster (Dustin), Destiny Gibbs & Austin Wynne also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2012 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Charles A. Istre officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening, September 19, 2012 at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
