Mr. Jack Arnold Terry, 74 of Lake City, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021. He was born at the family home in Fort White, Florida to the late Jack Roland Terry and Jewell DuBose Terry. Mr. Terry attended the Fort White School till the 10th grade and graduated from Columbia High School in Lake City, class of 1964. Till this day, Mr. Terry had remained close to his Fort White and Columbia High School classmates. He furthered his education at Massey Technical Institute in Jacksonville earning certificates in Civil Engineering and also with ICS earning other certificates in engineering. Mr. Terry was employed with the Florida Department of Transportation, Lee and Associates, and retired with 30 years of employment from Occidental/PCS. He was of the Baptist faith since he was 10 years old and was currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lake City. Together with his wife, he enjoyed retirement, building, fixing things and fishing.
Survivors include his high school sweetheart and wife of 55 years, Paulette Terry, Lake City; his son, Mark Terry (Tracey), Lake City; his daughter, Betsy Roberts, Lake City; one brother, Norman Terry (Jerilyn), Orlando; one sister, Mary Evelyn Butcher (Bob), Spotsylvania, VA; two grandchildren, Michael W. Roberts, Jr. (Maclay) and Dana J. Roberts all of Lake City; one great granddaughter, Jennings Pearl Roberts, Lake City; two sisters-in-law, Georgia Sherrill (Hugh), Lake City and Phyllis Nobles, Jacksonville; and his lifelong special friends, Billy and Anna Friar, Lake City.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at 3:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Hugh Sherrill officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Per Mr. Terry's wishes, he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Lake City or to the charity of your choice.
