Jack M. Daugherty, 84, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, December 3, 2023 at the Haven Hospice – Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City after an extended illness. He was born on April 25, 1939 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Fess and Pauline McKinney Daugherty. He has made Lake City his home most of his life and was a member of the Christian Heritage Church here in Lake City. He worked for the IBEW Electrical Union for over 50 years; was a US Army Veteran; and in his spare time, enjoyed tinkering on things, welding, building things, and going on RV trips with his wife. He is preceded in death by his sons, George Allen Daugherty & James Merrill Daugherty; grandson, Kevin Daugherty; granddaughters, Tessa Lee Daugherty & Jasmine Lee Daugherty; brother, JR Daugherty; and sisters, Barbara Ann Reppert, Geraldine Dassinger, Betty Hunt & Hazel Sweet.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Brenda Gail Daugherty of Lake City; sons, Raymond Daugherty of Lake City and Rodney Daugherty (Julie) of Monticello, FL; brothers, Donald Lee Daugherty (Shirley) & Danny Daugherty (Debbie) both of Lake City. Three grandchildren, Marcy Walters (Kevin) of Lake City, Cory Daugherty (Della) of Jacksonville and Brian Daugherty of Lake City along with six great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren also survive.

A memorial service for Mr. Daugherty will be conducted on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Chris Jones Officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:30 A.M., before the service at the funeral home.
