William Kinlaw
September 10, 1945 – February 1, 2025
Iley William "Bill" Kinlaw, 79, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the HCA Florida – Lake City Hospital, after an extended illness. He was born in Wilmington, NC on September 10, 1945 to the late Iley Wilton Kinlaw and Edna Horne Kinlaw. He has made Lake City his home for the last three years, moving here from the White Lake, NC area. He worked all of his life in Forestry, and loved his job and the woods. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Elizabethtown, NC; Bill was a kind, caring man, with a great sense of humor, who never met a stranger and loved spending time with his family. He spent many years not only as a volunteer fireman, but also coaching Little League and midget football. He gave back to the community in so many ways, which earned him the respect and admiration of so many. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, being in the woods around nature and animals. He is preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Horne Kinlaw.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 57 years, Gail Kinlaw of Lake City; son, Michael William Kinlaw of Lake City; and daughter, Chrystal Kinlaw Johnson (Clint) of Denton, TX along with two grandsons, Derit Johnson & Elijah Johnson, his two grandpups, Sunflower and Vera and many extended family members and friends.
A memorial graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 1:00 P.M., in the Memorial Cemetery in Lake City. Interment will immediately follow.
