Hugh Morris Williams passed away on January 9, 2023 at 90 years of age. He was born on December 2, 1932, in Lake City, Florida and was a lifelong resident of the community whose people and history he so dearly loved.

He is survived by his two sons, David and Chris, sister-in-law Sallie, nephews Raymond and Jeff, great-nephew Hunter, as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Oscar and Ida English Williams, brothers Howard, Jimmy, and Ernest Williams, and sisters Marjorie Tyson and Betty Stoltze.

Morris graduated from Columbia High School in 1950, and received his Masters Degree from the University of Florida in 1958. His educational career spanned many decades and several countries, and he was involved with many educational initiatives.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11:00am in the CCSD Administrative Complex Auditorium at 372 W Duval Street in Lake City, Florida. He will be interred in a private ceremony at Bethel Cemetery at Bethel United Methodist Church.
