Obituary

Hugh Fenton Moore, 95, died Monday, August 1, 2011 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville after an extended illness. He was born in Mulberry, Florida to the late Luther D. and Agnes Allen Moore He had lived in Columbia County since 1945 having moved here from Dunedin, Florida. He served our country faithfully with the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He retired after 40 years of service with the Florida Highway Patrol Office. He was a deeply involved with the Florida Free & Accepted Masons for the past 56 years, holding offices with the Masons ( 33rd Degree), Scottish Rite, York Rite, & Morocco Temple Shriners. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.


Survivors include his daughters, Rhonda Moore (Cyrees) Lott of Hawthorne, FL and Rhoda Jean Moore of Lake City, FL; 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2011 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Tate officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2011 at the funeral home.
