Hubert Edward "Pete" Ashley

Mr. Hubert Edward “Pete” Ashley, Jr. passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the HCA FL Lake City Hospital in Lake City following an illness. He is the son of the late Hubert Edward and Hazel Norton Ashley, Sr. and is preceded in death by two sisters, Gwen Gordon and Margaret Masalka. He had made McAlpin his home since 2001 after moving here from Orlando, FL. He enjoyed flying, working in his yard, being outdoors and watching the wildlife, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Judy Ashley, McAlpin, FL; three daughters, Sharon Porter (Randy) Gotha, FL; Shellie McConnell (John) Apopka, FL; and Kellie Ashley, Altamont Springs, FL. Four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
