Hilda Grey Harvey

Surrounded by the love of her family, Hilda Gray Harvey went peacefully to her eternal home on August 11, 2026, while in hospice care in Lake City, Florida. Born January 8, 1939, in Roseboro, NC, she leaves behind a legacy as bright and vibrant as the sunflowers she cherished.

Hilda is survived by her husband, Henry Radford Harvey; her children, Joan, Mike, and Jim; and her grandchildren, Abagail, Eva Christine, Adam, and Heather. Known lovingly as 'Nanny' to her grandchildren Alanna, Fiona, Adam, and Annabelle. Her two grandsons, AJ (Alan James) and Christopher, will meet her in heaven. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Alydia, Natalie, Brianna, and Greya, and her great-great-grandchildren, Ignacio and Atticus.

One of Hilda's greatest joys was to travel. It didn't matter where she was going; just as long as she went! Her love of traveling was rivaled only by her devotion and faith in God. She loved talking to friends and family to make sure they were okay, and they knew she loved and prayed for each one every day. She was a woman of strong faith who started each day in prayer and with her Bible as long as she was able. She wanted everyone to know about Jesus and His love, and she infused her faith into her family as her most precious legacy.

Hilda's passing leaves a huge empty space that we will fill with memories of how much she loved her furbabies, from LittleBit to Pup-Pup, the many trips she took her grandchildren on, her prayers, and her life of faith, perseverance, and generosity.

A funeral service for Mrs. Harvey will be conducted on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
