Mr. Harry D Bertram, 81 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. Mr. Bertram was born in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Harry Gilliam and Iva D. Bertram. He was a longtime resident of Glasgow, Kentucky and had made his home in Lake City since 1971 moving here from Jacksonville. Mr. Bertram was a Veteran of the United States Navy and member of Parkview Baptist Church. He was always willing to help those in need. Mr. Bertram had the patience of Job and never a harsh word. He loved refinishing antique furniture, reading mysteries and traveling with his wife. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He retired from McCormick Spice Company in 1995 and he ran the Keaton Bike Shop in Lake City for the past 19 years.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Claudette S. Bertram; his son and daughter in law, Jeffrey and Pennie Bertram; his daughter and son in law, Lee Ann and Lamar Hires all of Lake City; his sister, Judy Bertram Walker, Glasgow, KY; three grandchildren, Tanya Sikes (Will), Jason Cody Bertram (Brandi) and Jared Michael Hires (Taylor) all of Lake City; and four great grandchildren, Taylor Raye Sikes, William Tanner Sikes, Jace Carter Bertram and Annaliese Bree Bertram all of Lake City.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 10:30 am at Parkview Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Tatem, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 am.
