Gertrude Howard, 86, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, October 28, 2022 after an extended illness. She was born in Jacksboro, Texas on November 19, 1935 to the late Cecil and Lois Opal Pierce Ogle. She has made Lake City her home for a number of years and was a Homemaker all of her life. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and being on her computer. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Harold Howard; her son, William Harold Howard, Jr.; daughter, Barbara Ann Howard; brother, Eugene Ogle and her sister, Darlene Cox.

She is survived by her sons, Cecil James Howard (Janice) of Lake City, Patrick Steven Howard (Peggy) of Lake City, George Michael Howard (Joann) of Oklahoma and Charles Robert Howard (Debbie) of North Carolina; daughter, Patricia Ann Howard of Lake City; brother, George Ogle (Gay) of Jacksboro, TX and her sister, Marlene Edmondson (Andy) of New Mexico. Sixteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren also survive.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Howard will be conducted on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
