Gertrude Marie Goss, 91 of Lake City, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City.  Mrs. Goss was born and raised in the South Florida area and had made her home in Lake City for many years.  She attended school in Wellborn and was a graduate of Columbia High School.  Mrs. Goss worked for many years at Division Hospital and also for Dr. Benefield.  Mrs. Goss was of the Baptist faith and a longtime member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Lake City.  She loved going on trips to the mountains, fishing, mowing and tending to her yard and taking care of her dogs.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Harold Goss; her son, Donald A. Goss; and her brother, Otis Powell.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Southwell (Ronnie), Fort White; three grandsons, Shawn Southwell (Amy), Fort White, Kevin Southwell (Donielle), Alachua and Daryl Goss (Emily), Lake City; special niece, Susan Hitt, Lake City; and five great-grandchildren, Clayton, Sydney, Hunter, Saylor and Deacon.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Bo Bush officiating.  Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lake City Humane Society, 1392 NW Shelter Gln, Lake City, FL 32055, in memory of Mrs. Goss.
