Obituary

Geraldine Harrington Kent, 80, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at the Solaris Health Care of Lake City after a brief illness. She was born in Lake City on February 25, 1942 to the late Remer Harrington and Nadine Box Harrington. She was a Military wife, following her husband's military career through several different states, but made Lake City her home for most of her life. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed crocheting, reading, gospel music and her plants. She is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years in 2004, Billie J. Kent and her sister, Pauline Brown.

She is survived by her son, Tony Kent (Melonie) of Lake City; brother, Tommy Harrington (Pat) of Lake City, sisters, Evelyn Kay of Lake City and Linda Gail Stratton of Petal, MS. Three grandchildren, Amber Lynn Von Leue (Grant) of Highlands, Justin Kent of Bartow & Kyndall Kent of Lake City; one great-granddaughter, Marlee Harrison with one on the way and numerous extended family and friends also survive.

A funeral service for Mrs. Kent will be conducted on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ron Thompson, Pastor of Pine Grove Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday evening, July 8, 2022 at the funeral home.
