Mr. George Harry Bishop, 68, of Lake City, Florida, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Shands at the University of Florida Hospital in Gainesville.  Mr. Bishop was a veteran of the United States Navy serving with the Sea Bees.

He left behind his beloved wife of 39 years, Evelyn Bishop; his sister, Claire Hayward; three children, Cathy Davis, Don Cato and Lisa Gates; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren along with his faithful companion, "Sparkle".  He will be greatly missed.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Tyre officiating.  Interment will follow with military honors.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
