Gary Wayne Decker 1954 – 2025 Gary Wayne Decker, age 71, passed away on November 13, 2025. A resident of Lake City, Florida since 1988, Gary made his home there after moving from North Carolina. He was born in Morris, Illinois, to Leo Decker and Helen (Williams) Decker. Gary was truly a jack of all trades and spent much of his life working as a dedicated Mobile Home Repairman. He was known for his strong work ethic, his warm and welcoming personality, and his ability to make anyone feel like a friend. He loved Jesus, loved to laugh, and never met a stranger. Anyone who crossed his path felt his kindness.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Decker, whom he was married to for over 53 years; his daughter, Tonya (Decker) Barwick, and her husband Chris Scimé; six grandchildren — Kimberly Decker, Alyssa Barwick, Austin Barwick, Rhiannon Siebenaler, Joseph Scimé, and Christopher Scimé; and 24 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Ricky Decker of Bradenton, FL; Todd Decker (Marcia) of Lake City, FL; and Judy Kowalcyzk (John), Colorado.

Gary was preceded in death by his son Steven Decker; his grandson Michael Scimé; his brother Alfred Decker; and his sister Shirley Wagner; and his sister -in-law Karen Decker. More than anything, Gary cherished time spent with his family. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, and sharing stories with those around him. His joyful spirit, generosity, and love for people made a lasting impact on everyone he met. Gary will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and all who knew him.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Seth Shaw officiating.
