Frederick Jonathan Hill, Sr., 83, of Lake City, passed away on Sunday morning, February 12, 2023 after an extended illness. He was born and raised in Lake City, the son of the late Leonard P. Hill and Virginia Rose Dedow Hill. He owned and operated FJ Hill Construction for many years, retiring in 2016. Work was his hobby, but outside of work, he enjoyed landscaping and boating. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Hill; his daughter, Fritzi Sabrina Hill; his granddaughter, Renee Waltrip Faulkner; and his sister, Antonia Irene Hill.

He is survived by his wife, Maria R. Hill of Lake City; son, Frederick Jonathan Hill, II. of Lake City; daughters, Lisa Waltrip (Greg) of Lake City, Wendy Alyson Jordan (Robert) of North Carolina and Mitzi Gail Hill of Lake City; brothers, Leonard P. Hill, Jr. (Theda), Michael Hill and Jeffery Hill (Linda) all of Lake City; sisters, Glenda Lynelle Glover of Ft. Walton, Lenda Darnell Walker of Lake City and Lana Virginia McLain of Lake City. Thirteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren also survive.

A funeral service for Mr. Hill will be conducted on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with his daughter, Wendy Jordan, officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
