Mr. Freddy Lawayne Mitchell, 87, passed away on December 30, 2022, at the Lake City Medical Center. Freddy is the son of the late Fred and Cora Maybelle Duggan Mitchell.  He is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Loretta Rabaino Mitchell, and two sisters Loretta Diane Mitchell and Vernetta Kirkland.

Freddy had made the Lake City area his home for the past eleven years.  He was of the Christian Faith and retired after thirty years of service with the City of San Jose, California.  He served his country for four years in the United States Navy.  Freddy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, camping and fishing.

Freddy is survived by two sons David Mitchell, Yulee, FL, Dwayne Mitchell Sanderson, FL, two daughters Lisa Barron (Sal) and Loralyn Tanase (Ken) both of San Jose, California, one brother Jack Mitchell (Estelle) of Pineville, Oregon, and nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews and his beloved companion, Louaddie Lowder of Lake City, FL.

A Memorial service for Mr. Freddy LaWayne Mitchell will be conducted on Saturday, January 14, 2023, in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 P.M.
