Mr. Francis Thomas "Bud" Elfrey, Jr., 84 of Lake City, died on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center.  He was born in Lenola, New Jersey to the late Francis T. and Elizabeth A. Ferry Elfrey and had lived in Lake City since 2004 having moved here from Pembroke Pines, FL.  While serving in the United States Navy, he met the love of his life, Beth C. Elfrey, and following his enlistment the two married in Medford, Mass.  Mr. Elfrey worked many years for Delta Airlines  in Boston, Mass., Jacksonville, FL and then South Florida where he retired.  He loved golfing, bowling and was a coach for many years in the Optimist in Dade County, FL coaching little league football and baseball.  Mr. Elfrey was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church in Lake City where he served as a Knight in the Knights of Columbus.   He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  Mr. Elfrey was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Beth C. Elfrey and one daughter, Lynne Marie Elfrey.

Survivors include his son, Frank Elfrey (Lyda), Waverly, OH; three daughters, Cynthia J. Faircloth (Brian), Lake City, Cheryl A. Kilburn (Scott), Frisco, TX and Beth M. Elfrey (Joseph Norris), Madison, CT; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Epiphany Catholic Church with Father Rob Trujillo officiating.  A reception will follow in the Parrish Hall.
