Frances Harriet Nicholson, 83, of Lake City, FL, passed away on January 24, 2021 at the Haven-Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center from complications following a stroke. She was born March 25, 1937, in Jennings, FL, in the farm house of her parents, Edith and Anson Johnson. The eldest of 4 children, she grew up in the farm in Hamilton County and graduated from school in Jennings. After high school, she moved to Jacksonville, FL, to work in a theater, and later a jewelry store. While in Jacksonville, she met Robert K. Nicholson, who was in the Marine Corps. They married in September of 1957 and were married for nearly 60 years at the time of his death.

They lived in several places before settling in Lake City, FL after her husband's discharge from the Military. They relocated to Gainesville, FL in 1993. Frances moved back to Lake City following her husband's death in 2017.

Frances was a homemaker most of her life and took pride in the accomplishments of her family. She was a loving wife to her husband and loving mother to her 2 sons, often giving encouragement and advice (whether they wanted it or not!). In her later years, you would often find her enjoying walking in her neighborhood, watching hallmark channel shows, or talking with family & friends. She loved her entire family and she was often the first person you would expect to receive a card from on your birthday, holiday or just because.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, Curtis Johnson and two grandchildren.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert K. Nicholson, Jr. of Newark, Delaware and Brian Nicholson (Tara) of Lake City; a brother, Alfred Johnson of Glen St. Mary, FL; a sister, Sybil Johnson Allen (Everal) of Jennings, FL; two brother-in-laws, Davis Nicholson (Jim) and Lee Nicholson, both of Gainesville, FL. Fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive.

Memorial services for Mrs. Nicholson will be conducted on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 1:30 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dustin Busscher officiating.
