Forest O. Wright, 84, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at the Willow Creek Assisted Living Facility after a brief illness. He was born on October 21, 1937 to the late Carl and Orpha Wright. He has made Lake City his home most of his life and served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for many years with the Lake City VA Medical Center and retired at the age of 55 as Chief of SPD. He was a member of the First Advent Christian Church and in his spare time enjoyed running, he competed in several triathlons over the years; and also enjoyed biking and fishing. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol Wright and his two brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his son, Howard Wright (Casey Strickland) of Tallahassee. Several extended family members and friends also survive.

A memorial service for Mr. Forest will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to the Mayo Clinic – Fight Alzheimer's and Dementia. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
