Amanda Faye Hunter, 86, of Lake City, passed away peacefully at her home on July 31, 2025. She was born on August 21, 1938, in Lake City to the late Wilbur Vernon Hunter and Inez Huchingson Hunter Boggus.

In 1965, she and her late brother, W.L. Hunter, founded the W.L. Hunter Insurance Agency. Working side-by-side, they built a trusted business that has served the community for the past 60 years. She remained devoted to the Agency's success, continuing to work diligently until her recent illness.

In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, playing softball, and fishing with her nephews. She was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as Treasurer for many years.

Faye will be remembered for her charitable nature, kind spirit, and quick wit. She quietly supported countless organizations and causes throughout her life, never seeking recognition for her unwavering generosity.

She is survived by her nephews and niece: Glenn J. Hunter (Laura), Wiley S. Hunter (Gayle), Linda Hunter Butler (Art), Mark A. Hunter (Marilyn) and Alan J. Hunter (Pam), all of Lake City; eight grandnieces and grandnephews: Travis Hunter (Amy), Kennon Hunter, Kelly Hunter Rosell (Joshua), Leslie Hunter Skeen (Jeff), Natalie Hunter Goss (Justin), Sarah Butler O'Rourke (Michael), Rachel Butler Ponte (Thomas), and Jonathan Hunter; 11 great grandnephews and great grandnieces; sister-in-law, Joyce Hunter; and friend, Brenda Lee Bailey.

She is predeceased in death by her brother, W.L. Hunter; grandnephew, Matthew Hunter; and longtime friend, Marie Leggett.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the fellowship hall at Calvary Baptist Church. The funeral will start at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary, officiated by Pastor Howard Adams, with assistance of Pastor Burl Harkey of Northside Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to two of her favorite organizations: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Lake City Humane Society.
