Mr. Eugene Ray Luke, 80, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at the HCA Florida North Florida Hospital in Gainesville, FL following an extended illness. Eugene was a lifelong resident of Lake City.  He is the son of the late John D. and Mattie Stone Luke. He is preceded in death by one brother, Wilbur D. Luke, two sisters, Gloria Nell Bryant and Jeannie K. Luke, two nieces, Natasha Luke and Penny Bryant, and one great-nephew, William Roscoe Sparrow III. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers, spending time with his family, and fishing.

Eugene is survived by his three sons, Julian Luke, Lake City, FL.; Eugene Ray Luke, Jr., and Joshua Lee Luke, both of Ft. White, FL; one brother, Jimmy Luke, Lake City, FL; and one sister, Vivian Todd, Lake City, FL. Four nieces Jessica Luke, Lake City, Fl; Carmelitta Flowers, Ft. White, Fl; Darlene Bryant, Lake City, FL and Brenda Hudson, Lake City, FL; three nephews Bruce Bryant (Sandra) Ft. White, FL; Matthew Todd (Michelle) Lake City, Fl; and William Luke, Taylor, FL.

A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Eugene Ray Luke will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 4:00 P.M. with Reverend Mike Norman officiating.  The family would like to invite everyone who attends the service to also join them for dinner following the service at the church.   with Reverend Mike Norman officiating.
