Ethel Evelyn Merritt, 84, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the Haven-Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center in Lake City after an extended illness. She was born in Madison, FL on April 27, 1937 to the late Hugh Lindsey and Adele Corbin Lindsey. She has made Lake City her home most of her life and was a Machine Operator as well as a Homemaker. In her spare time she enjoyed her goldfish in her fishpond and loved being with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Brady Samuel Merritt.

She is survived by her children, Dale Brady Merritt (Lisa) of South Carolina and Debbie Merritt Hall of Lake City; sister, Judy Hair of Lake City; grandchildren, Sara Ann Rainey, Dylon Dwight Hall and Elizabeth Merritt. Two great-grandchildren, Carter and Camden Rainey also survive.

A graveside family memorial service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Interment will follow. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME.
