Mrs. Era Elizabeth Rhoden, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on, Tuesday evening, January 20, 2015. She was born in Homerville, Georgia to the late Erlich and Emma [Tomlinson] Morgan and had lived in Lake City, Florida for most of her life. Era was a loving wife, mother, grand and great grandmother who devoted her time to the care of her family. She was co-owner of Paul Roy Studios, framing and photography, and a charter member of the Altrusa Society. She loved the Lord and was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Lake City. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Alma Jean Mansfield and by her first husband, Paul Roy Sr. (1983).
Survivors include her caring husband, of 29 years, Donald H. Rhoden of Lake City, FL; son, Paul "Randy" (Cathy) Roy Jr. of Lake Butler, FL; grandchildren, Kellyn Roy, Amy & Adam Rhoden, Jeremy (Amanda) Huston, and Courtney (Joe) Ridgell; great grandchildren, Tessa Huston, Kurt Ridgell, and Isabella Huston.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Tate officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services (10:30 am – 11:30 am) at the funeral home.
