Emma I Schlegel passed away peacefully on Friday, October 8, 2021 at the Lake City Rehab after a brief illness. She was born in Valley View, PA on October 5, 1924, where she spent all of her childhood. She had recently moved to Lake City to be closer to her daughter and family. Emma was a wonderful mother and a caring friend who loved to yodel in her younger years. Later in life, she loved singing hymns and had the voice of an angel. She is preceded in death by her husband Willard Schlegel and daughter Carol Johnston

She is survived by her children, Monica Chriscoe and husband of Winston Salem, NC, Debra Shearer of Lake City, FL, and William Schlegel of Plano, TX. Four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held in North Carolina the end of this year. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME
