Mrs. Eloise Chambers Bowden. 83, of Lake City, FL, died Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Lake City Medical Center after a lengthy illness. A native of Columbia County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Olivia Stokes Chambers. A graduate of C.H.S. Class of 1949, she moved to Jacksonville, FL and worked for Prudential Ins. Co. for 30 years. After moving back to Lake City, she was a caregiver to many local people and a member of Salem Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her brother: Donald Chambers, Lynnwood, WA; sister: Marilyn Hamm, Lake City, FL; brother-in-law: Johnny M. Hamm (Elaine); nieces and nephews: John Mark Hamm (Alison), Mt. Dora, FL; great niece: Aubrey Wilkerson (Jimmy) and 2 daughters; Rose McAllister (Tom), Roy Chambers, Mitchell McAllister, Lacy McAllister, Sophie Chambers, Anthony Chambers, Joy Marie Hamm and Brian Hamm. She was preceded in death by one niece, Joy Hamm Giebeig.
A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015, from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. at the funeral home. Private burial services will follow at Chambers Cemetery.
