Eleanor Irene King was born May 26, 1931 and born again in 1950. Eleanor passed away December 26, 2022 in Lake City, FL at the age of 91.  She was the widow of the late Leon Winton King.  She was the daughter of the late Earl Diller of Cochran GA and the late Hester Diller of Lake City, FL.  She also had one brother, Ellis Diller who preceded her in death.

After spending her childhood years in Georgia, she spent her teenage years in her parent's state of Iowa and graduated from McKinley High School, Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1949.

After office work and other employment, Eleanor enrolled at the Norwegian-American Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago in 1956.  After earning her RN, she worked at several VA hospitals, eventually working at the VA Hospital in Lake City.  It was there she met her husband and has resided in Lake City ever since.

She is survived by two sons Mark King (Heather) of Indian Trail, NC and David King (Angela) of Lake City, five grandchildren, Dave King (Marissa) and Maria King Frazier (Zack) of Lake City and Joseph, Samuel, and Lilly King of Indian Trail, NC.  She is also survived by her brother's son Russell Diller of Cochran GA and Cousin Carol Rafferty of Cushing, OK as well as many other members of her extended family and that of her husband who were all very dear to her.

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Deep Creek Advent Christian Church, 381 Colt Lane off of 441 north of Lake City.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Scott Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, she requests that donations be made to the Lighthouse Children's Home, 7771 Mahan Dr. Tallahassee, FL, 32309.
