Mr. Edwin W. Morris, 79 of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville.  He was a lifelong resident of Columbia County and the third of six children to the late Charles Haskel "Hack" and Mae Willie Robinson Morris.  Mr. Morris worked for many years at Guerdon Mobile Homes and then many years and retiring from the Columbia County Road Department.  He was of the Pentecostal faith and he loved watching boxing, wrestling and listening to classic country music, especially Hank Williams, Sr.  Mr. Morris was preceded in death by four siblings, Charles Morris, Christine Creel, Mary Ann Kirby and Robert Morris.

Survivors include his brother, James R. Morris, Sr. (Joyce), Lake City; eleven nieces and nephews, Freda Kramer, David Creel, Reed Morris, Steve Creel, Roger Morris, Sharon Creel, Robin Morris, Joy Bass, Angie May, Vicki Singleton and Sean Morris.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Ogburn officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 5-7:00 pm at the funeral home.
