Eddie Greene Harris, 84, of Etowah, Tn., passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Star Regional Medical Center in Athens, Tn., following a brief illness.


Born April 27, 1930, in Lake City, Fl., to the late John Harris and Eva Bell Roberts. Eddie was a native of Lake City Florida and was residing in Etowah Health Care in Etowah, Tennessee for the past several years. He spent 22.5 years in the USA Army, serving in both war and peace times with tours in Korea and Vietnam. Since retiring in 1971, he was active in the Masonic Order as well as the Moroccon Shrine. He was preceded in death by his wife; Elizabeth (Betty), his parents; John C. and Eva Bell Roberts Harris, 4 brothers; John C. Jr., E.J., J. W. and J.T. Harris.

He is survived by daughter Elaine, son-in-law Randall of Rockwood, Tennessee; brother Lewis of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; sister Jeanette Budden of Carrollton, Georgia; grandson Gary and great-grandchildren Austin and Scarlett, of Denver, N.C.; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, December 12, 2014 at Corinth Church Cemetery in Lake City, Fl.
