Earl Franklin Kinard, 92 of Fort White, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on February 20, 1930 to the late William Franklin Kinard and Verdie Agnes Copeland Kinard. Mr. Kinard was raised in Jacksonville and attended Robert E. Lee High School. Following school, he served 10 years in the United States Navy during the Korean War, stationed at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville and in 1968 he moved home to Fort White. Mr. Kinard worked for many years in the Upholstery business in both Jacksonville and Lake City.
He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was currently attending the Branford Ward in Branford, Florida. Throughout the years, he held many callings within the church including Counselor to the Bishop, Young Men's President and served as a Branch Missionary. Missionary work for the church was his true calling. He loved to visit and home teach families in the church and write to current and former missionaries of the church until his passing. Mr. Kinard enjoyed ballroom dancing, square dancing, fly fishing, and he taught anyone who wanted to learn. He loved sports and coached softball for many years for the young men. He was an avid bird hunter and fisherman. Through the years he hosted many southern fish frys for his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Alice June Kinard; and his wife, Lola Jean Hall Kinard.
Survivors include his children, Wayne Kinard (Alice), Fort White, Karen Edwards (Chubby Thomas), Lake City, Beth Russell (Tim), Lake City, Jenifer Sullivan, Fort White and Kate Tyre (J.D.), Fort White; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Kinard will be conducted on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 909 SE Country Club Road, Lake City, FL 32025. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Union County. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center at 6037 West US 90, Lake City, FL 32055 in memory of Mr. Kinard.
