Mr. Duke Thomas Downing, 74, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the University of Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. following an extended illness. Duke was born in PeWee, Kentucky to the late Gilbert and Mary Etta Ayers Downing, Sr. He was preceded in death by two sisters Henrietta Lockett, and Ella Moore. Duke had made Ft. White his home since 1990 after moving there from Kentucky. After moving to Florida Duke married his late wife Margaret Ward Downing. He would later meet and marry his current wife Mrs. Carol A. Coy. Duke enjoyed living life to the fullest, spending time with his family, golfing, tennis, and working on his farm.

Duke is survived by his wife Carol A. Coy, Ft. White, FL his two children Estina Yuvonda Downing (Mark) one son Duke Thomas Downing, III (Alma). One sister Mary Lucille Downing, and two brothers Gilbert Downing, Jr. (Coralene) and Douglas Downing. His grandchildren are Kristina Chatman (Tre), Jazmine Downing, Devonte' Jones, Sydney Jackson (Aaron), Amari Downing, Tristan and Trinity Downing. His great-grandchildren Miracle Dickerson, Nova Chatman, Macario Downing, and Zaire Chatman. And a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
