Dorothy N. Shelton, 78, of Lake City, Florida died Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) after an extended illness. She was born in Buchanan County, Virginia to the late John and Pearl (Addison) Meadows but had lived in Columbia County since 1963. She was a loving mother, grand & great grandmother who loved her family, and enjoyed watching NASCAR Racing, Florida Gator Football, and watching the Atlanta Braves & Tampa Bay Rays play baseball. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Trula Watkins.
Survivors include her son, Jeff Shelton of Lake City, FL; daughter, Cindy (Emerson) North of Lake City, FL; daughter in law, Lora Roberts Shelton of Lake City, FL; 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2012 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Jones officiating.
Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to service time.
