Dorothy Estelle Hopkins, 79 of Branford, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at the Bedrock Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Suwannee in Live Oak. Ms Hopkins was born in Lafayette County, Florida to the late Eugene and Gertie Lucille Rogers Croft. She was a lifelong resident of the Branford Community and a member of The Worship Center/Power for Living Church on SR 247. Ms Hopkins enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting and spending time with her family. She loved her church family and was involved with the food ministry at the church. Ms Hopkins was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Frankie Croft.
Survivors include her two sons, Robert C. Dees (Sissy), Branford and Thomas "Tommy" W. Raulerson, Fort White; her nephew, Jesse "Buddy" Matthews (Annette), New Port Richey, FL; three grandchildren, Erica Gaylord, Live Oak, Draker R. Raulerson (Gracie), Las Vegas, NV and Kimber Carelli (David), stationed in Guam; seven great grandchildren with one great granddaughter due in August of 2025; and two great-great grandchildren also survive.
A memorial gathering with the family will be Friday afternoon, June 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery in Branford. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Worship Center/Power for Living Church to assist with the food ministry.
