Dorothy Christie, 93 of Lake City, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 at the HCA Florida Lake City Hospital.  Mrs. Christie was a lifelong resident of Lake City and a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1950.  She worked for 29 years with the First Assembly of God Church in Lake City serving as the church secretary and was currently a member of Christ Central in Lake City.  Mrs. Christie was a wonderful cook and loved to spend time with her family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Rosette Keen; her husband of 35 years, William A. "Bill" Christie in 1986; her son, Randy Christie; and two brothers, Edward and Shelton Keen.

Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Rhonda and Ronny Busscher, Lake City; her daughter in law, Angela Christie, Lake City; three grandchildren, Brooke Busscher (Dustin), Lake City, Lyndsey Hetu (Joey), Lake Asbury and Ashlyn Busscher, Lake City; one brother, Wayne Keen (Sandra), Lake City; two sisters, Byronelle Witt and Voncile Hale (Morrison), Lake City; three great-grandchildren, Carolyn Robertson (Hayden), Orange Park, A.J. Busscher, Lake City and Easton Hetu, Lake Asbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Christie will be conducted on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Dustin Busscher and A.J. Busscher officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.  A time of visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the funeral on Friday at the funeral home from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
