Dorothea Ellen Huntman, 88, of Lake City, Florida, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on December 22, 2025. She was born on July 4, 1937, in Greensboro, Pennsylvania, to the late Earl and Grace Jackman Harshman.

Dorothea spent many years as a talented hairdresser, working in a salon she owned and operated with her husband, Michael Huntman. She later retired from the Broward County School Board, where she served as head bookkeeper. Dorothea was known for her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and dedication to her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved oldest daughter, Scarlett Huntman-Lavite.

Dorothea is survived by her significant other, Michael Huntman, of Lake City; her daughter, Heather Huntman-Craig; her grandchildren, Kierstin Erdozain-Bedenbaugh, Cory Craig, and Colby Craig, all of Lake City; and her great-grandchildren, River Bedenbaugh, Mila Bedenbaugh, and Cohen Craig.

She is also survived by her siblings: three sisters, June (Richard) Policz of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania; Jean (Norm) Buckingham of Parma, Ohio; and Caroline Ferencak of Mather, Pennsylvania; and one brother, Clarence (Vicki) Harshman of Wellington, Ohio.

Dorothea will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Graveside funeral services for Ms Huntman will be conducted on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
