Obituary

Mrs. Donna Laura Thomson, 82, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at the Village at Gainesville Assisted Living. She is the daughter of the late Leonard J. and Winifred Garlock Clifford. She had made Lake City her home for the past forty years after moving from Niagara Falls, New York. She attended the First Presbyterian Church and the First Methodist Church of Lake City. She enjoyed spending time with her family, creating ceramics, and taught Sunday School at the First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Donna is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, James S. Thomson, Lake City, FL; three sons, James S. Thomson, II (Annie), Boise, Idaho; Michael Thomson (Megan), Palm Bay, FL; and Dennis Thomson (Tunle), Gainesville, FL. Two daughters, Tracy Brown, Live Oak, FL, and Laura Thomson, Lake City, FL. One brother, Leonard J. "Butch" Clifford, Jr., Grand Island, NY, and one sister, Marla Clifford Joyner, Tonawanda, NY. Twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.

Funeral services for Mrs. Donna Laura Thomson will be conducted on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Reverend Mike Wright officiating.  Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
