Mrs. Donna L. Fussell, 57 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Shanda at the University of Florida Hospital in Gainesville following a brief illness.  She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and had made her home in Lake City since 1973.  Mrs. Fussell was a member of Huntsville Baptist Church and enjoyed attending church and was active in the "Secret Sisters".  She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing and crafts.  Mrs. Fussell's favorite time of the year was the fall and she enjoyed her yearly trips with her husband to the mountains to see the leaves change.  She had previously worked at the Lake City Medical Center for 14 years and was currently working at the Lake City Veteran's Affairs Medical Center with 14 years of employment.  She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Dobrenz and then in 1985 one son, Steven Fussell.

Survivors include her husband of 39 years, James R. Fussell, Sr., Lake City; her mother, Joyce Dobrenz, Lake City; four sons, James Phillip "Gator" Fussell (Dana), Lake City, James R. "Ricky" Fussell, Jr., (Donna), Macclenny, Brandon Fussell (Marisa), Ohio and Clayton James "C.J." Fussell (Patricia Ford), Lake City; two daughters, Carla Ann Fussell (David Larson), Live Oak and Jamie Fussell, Lake City; one brother, William "Bill" Dobrenz, Milwaukee, WI; one sister, Sandra Turner (Ronnie), Lake City; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jim Steele, Pastor of Huntsville Baptist Church officiating.  Visitation with the family will be from 10-11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
