Donald William "Donnie" Steele, 64 of Lake City, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at the HCA Florida Lake City Hospital.  He was born the third child of four, in Lake City, to the late Rev. James and Maedeen Pace Steele.  Donnie was raised in Lake City and was a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1979 and went on to retire from PCS in White Springs in 2009 as a heavy equipment operator.  Mr. Steele was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed fishing, carpentry work and writing letters to his daughter and grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughter, Brooklyn Breann Paider of Marion, IN; three siblings, James J. Steele, Jr. (Kathy) of Lake City, Mary Spurlock (Wayne) of O'Brien and Brian Steele (Ami) of Lake City; and two grandchildren, Zoee and Zane Paider.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
