Mr. Don Richard Stevens, 76, of Lake City passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness. A native and lifelong resident of Lake City, Don was the son of the late Alex Howard Stevens, Sr. and Blondina Marie Weatherd Stevens. Don was the owner of Stevens Pine Straw Company and previously co-owned and operated the Shellcracker Oyster Bar with his brother Brant Stevens for many years. He loved fishing, hunting, cooking, and spending time with his fur babies. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and his First Methodist Church family. Don was preceded in death by his brother Brantley "Brant" Stevens.

Don is survived by his wife of 43 years, Wendy Welch Stevens; sons, Don Chauncey "Chip" Stevens (Michaela), and Alex Kyle Stevens (Kaylie); daughter, Casey Lyn Hampson (Cam); brother, A.H. Stevens (Carol); sisters, Patti Rae Bielling (Reggie), and Lisa Anne Brinkley (Darryl); grandchildren, Kennedy Michelle Stevens and Alex Kallen Stevens; sister in law, Jerri Stevens; numerous nieces, nephews, and lifelong classmates and friends.

Funeral services for Don will be held at First Methodist Church in Lake City on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Aaron Ankeny and Mr. Steve Stafford officiating. Interment will follow at the Stevens Family Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Friday at the Church before the services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Methodist Church, 973 South Marion Avenue, Lake City, FL 32025.
