Mrs. Dolores Jean Riley, 85, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, October 20, 2017 at the Haven Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City after an extended illness. She was born in Packwood, Iowa on December 19, 1931 to the late George Talley and Maggie Spanier Talley. She has lived in the Lake City area for the last 17 years, moving here from Boca Raton; where she was a regular Beach-Bum. She loved collecting sea shells, which she had quite an extensive collection of; as well as stuffed teddy bears. She loved having guests over and was quite a good cook. She also loved dogs, going to the local gym and water aerobics classes when she could. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years; Donald "Don" K. Riley of Lake City; son, Steven Riley (Donna) of North Carolina; daughters; Donna K. Jennings of Newberry and Linda Diane Lawrence (Bo) of Tallahassee. Grandchildren; Matthew Riley (Jacque) of London , England, Kimberly Mills (Kyle) of North Carolina, Michelle Walker of Melbourne, Summer Bertagna of Cocoa, Grace Waugh of North Carolina and Jacob Heyward of Huntsville, AL; great-grandchildren; Holly Walker, Aden Walker, Diego Bertagna, Isabelle Bertagna, Natalia Bertagna, Issac Hunt, Ivan Hunt, Reed Mills and Camryn Mills also survive.
Memorial services for Mrs. Riley will be conducted on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 3 P.M. in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Tyre officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3 P.M. (one hour prior to the services) at the funeral home.
