Delores Jean James, 77, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, October 14, 2023, after an extended illness. She was born in Logan, West Virginia on October 18, 1945 to the late Herbert Starkey and Ruby Lawson Starkey. She worked in the Banking industry for a number of years as a Head Teller and has made the Lake City area her home for the last seven years, moving here from Illinois. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Starkey, Herbert Starkey and Kenneth Starkey; and her sisters, Anna Scott, Phyllis Brown and Mary Hogston.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ricky James of Lake City; sons, Rova Thorne (Jennifer) and Michael Thorne (Kimberly) both of Kentucky; brother, Roger Starkey (Linda) of Jackson, GA; and her sister, Frances Murray of California. Several grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews also survive.

Per Mrs. James' wishes, there will be no services scheduled at this time.
